| To Whom It May Concern: (Field Testers Report by Doug Bell) I just got through testing the 9x28 Pentax binocs. The weather was perfect for a field test, from torrential downpours to bright sunny skies all in one day. The glass is top of the line, there was very little distortion moving from the varying light situations and the focus was easily brought in and held, something I have had a problem with in other “medium-high” quality optics. The look and feel of the body was both pleasant and functional with very little wasted space within the package. I have several pairs of compact optics ranging from old to new, cheap (both quality and price) to up-scale and I would defiantly put these near the top. The only thing I would like to see changed is a more positive “clicker” with a bit more resistance in the right eye adjustment ring. Something similar to the eye cup stop points. It seemed just a bit too easy to have the focus taken out in a hard days use. It happened once while the glasses were |

minor problem atworst and seems to be easily avoided, but can also be a pain. If
you have not tried a pair of compact binoculars yet do yourself a favor and give
these a shot, and leave the giant objectives for your spotting scopes. (Doug took part in our "Pentax Field Tester" program. If you would like to read about that, please Click Here.) |
