Tactical 22LR Barrels - A premium Chromoly bore is sleeved in .920 diameter aluminum and fluted... This gives heavy barrel stiffness with reduced weight but, it retains a nice balance for aiming and shooting off-hand. The muzzle features an 11 degree target crown and has a threaded end (TE) for our removable muzzle brake. Threads are 1/2X28 TPI. A screw-on thread protector covers the threads when you want to shoot or go hunting without the brake installed. Olive Drab (OD) or Matte Black finish.
Tactical Muzzle Brake - Fits the Tactical 22LR barrels (above). These brakes feature a unique combination of lateral and forward porting that stabilizes the muzzle. Its great for watching your hits on varmints as well as fast target acquisition during rapid fire competition.

Here's How It Works: The 17 Hornady Mach 2 (HM2) is a 17 caliber version of the 22 LR rimfire cartridge. It shoots a heck of a lot faster and flatter, however (click Data at left). The blow-back semi-automatic Ruger 10/22 needs more bolt mass to time its fire, eject, and rechamber cycle to work right with this faster shooting 17 HM2 round... Merely installing a 17 HM2 barrel is not sufficient. Our 17 HM2 Heavy Bolt Handle Assembly adds the necessary mass... a simple, elegant solution.
Barrel/Bolt Handle Kits: For obvious reasons, we don't sell 17 HM2 barrels without the 17 HM2 Heavy Bolt Handle Assembly... you need BOTH a 17 HM2 barrel AND our 17 HM2 Heavy Bolt Handle Assembly to do a proper conversion of the Ruger 10/22 from 22 LR to 17 HM2 ammo.
Our 17 HM2 Barrels are precision drilled, reamed, rifled, and chambered to match grade tolerances to insure the best accuracy! The .920" diameter barrels are heavy target profile in blue, stainless and stainless fluted. These are fatter barrels than standard 10/22 stocks will fit. We have reasonably priced, adult sized Synthetic Stocks, Laminated Thumbhole Stocks, and our Special Edition (see below) Red and Black Laminated 17 Mach 2 stocks that will fit these barrels. The Factory Contour barrel fits the original Ruger factory stock. We also have Package Deals on Scope Mounts, Action Jobs, and even the brown or gray thumbhole stocks!

that is beveled at the impact face to reduce surface area and maximize reliable ignition (a priority in off the shelf 22s that are expected to fire ANY 22LR ammo including poorly made junk). The problem with too small of an impact face is that it can cut too deeply into the rim of some of the more sensitive (and accurate) ammunition types.
We're now offering a more precisely machined firing pin with a full sized impact face... approximately 3 times the surface area of the factory firing pin. We've been using these without modification in 17 Mach 2 conversions with 100% ignition reliability and superb accuracy. What we recommend you do is install this Accuracy Firing Pin in your Ruger 10/22 and try it. If you get any misfires, you can add some bevel to reduce surface area and make the pin hit a little deeper. The idea is to get reliable ignition with minimum rim disruption. We highly recommend it for all Ruger 10/22 rifles.
