- Our Shaw Stainless Steel AR-15 HBAR Barrel is fully chambered and ready to install on an upper receiver. It features an 11° target crown for enhanced accuracy potential, and it's compatible with BOTH .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition. The chamber is 223 Remington (Wylde) which is preferred by National Match rifle builders and shooters. These barrels are rifled 1:7 twist which is optimal for medium to heavy bullet weights. Should You Install a New Bolt w/This Barrel? Some of our customers have suggested that we should include a new bolt with our AR15 barrels. THEY say you should install a new bolt anytime you install a new barrel on an AR15 platform. On the other hand WE'RE trying to keep costs down and if you already have a good bolt, there's no sense in adding the cost of another one if you don't need it.
