Molded Plastic "Bottom Metal" for Version II Choate Stocks
This short action magazine well fits magazines where the latch is part of the magazine. If your Savage rifle has a plastic stock with the magazine well molded into the stock and not transferable to another stock, you will need this piece to make the Version II Choate Tactical Stock for Detachable Magazines fit your rifle. Fits factory magazines. Does not fit Savage Axis.

    Savage SA Plastic magazine adaptor

    Bought to use on a Savage 11 bottom bolt release action being fitted into a Boyds laminate stock. So far so good as it allowed use of the factory magazine supplied on the original tupperware plastic stock.

    Good part - Bolt hole distance concern

    The part will provide a bezel when making a hole in the bottom of a blind stock for using the Savage removable magazine. However the bolt to bolt distance does NOT match the Savage Axis XP short action. The holes are about 1/2" short. The front hole must be used for the front mounting hole in the barrel and the rear can be cut off flush. Then the rear part of the bezel can be fastened to the stock with epoxy etal. The quality is good and the part appears to be robust enough for frequent use.

    Nice fit

    After looking around for some options for the "Bottom Metal Component" that was required for changing out my stock on the Savage model 11 hunter XP I decided to go this route due to the part being fairly priced. I can confirm this will work on the Boyds At-One Stock and I am very happy with my choice. I am also not too concerned with this parts durability as its not really a part that needs structural integrity. The only thing that I found interesting was that the magazine was a little bit snug on the fit, however its not much of a bother. Overall this part fits nice in the stock and does its job.

    Purchased this item to install on a Boyds stock that I bought for my Savage Model 16 6.5 Creedmoor . Was easy to install and was a perfect fit. Thoroughly satisfied with purchase.

    Form and function is good only drawback is that is plastic I would have gladly paid more money for the same made in blued steel.
