Description

Hicks Ruger Number One Accurizer
Adjusts harmonics to achieve the accuracy sweet spot for your Ruger No.1. The main spring hanger bar that extends out under the barrel from the Ruger #1 receiver can be turned into a harmonic accuracy tuner with the installation of our Hicks #1 Accurizer. The resulting improvement in accuracy can be dramatic. Installation is easy with only minor inletting of the forend required to give clearance for the Hicks #1 Accurizer. Once installed, you shoot 3 shot groups and adjust tension until you reach optimum accuracy.

Background Information:
The Ruger Number One Rifle can have harmonic accuracy problems due to the main spring hanger bar that extends under the forend. The factory has addressed this issue for many rifles by tensioning the forend against the barrel with a high spot in the end of the barrel channel. However, this is a non-adjustable solution and is not optimal for all Ruger Number One Rifles. Our Hicks Accurizer mounts an adjustable tensioner at the end of the forend hanger bar. This allows you to fine tune the harmonics for your particular rifle and ammunition.

    Hicks #1 accurizer

Installed the first one on a .22250, 1.5 groups to 3/4 and I haven’t done anything other then set it 1/4 turn. #2 on a #1 257 Roberts that would group 2 together and then become erratic. Played with t a little, now shooting anting from 82 grains to 120 right at an inch for five shots. Now I’m sold the third one went on a 300 HH a couple of days ago. Solid performer at 1.25 for three shots and then erratic. 1/2 turn and three shots through the same hole. The forth is going on a 275 Rigby this weekend, another three shot 1.25 rifle, I’m liking these things.

My Ruger#1B in 6mm rem. Would not group at all so I took forearm off and went to the range 3shot group 1.5 " I've had the accurizer in my safe for over a year. Figured what the heck brought to my friend (a sure enough gunsmith) he installed the accurizer went to the range this week turned the set screw until contact with the barrel gave it a quarter turn and presto 3 shot group of .50 moa at 100 yds needless to say I was ELATED !!!!

    Hicks #1 Accurizer

I had a #1 come into the shop in .220 Swift, it wouldn’t group with lead free ammo due to the twist rate and length of lead free bullets, I worked up a load using 45 grain Barnes TSX bullets grouped horizontally great but it strung vertically up to 2” ES in the low teens 13 average. I installed the tension block and went for a day of shooting, I moved the tension screw in 1/4 turn increments and found a sweet spot (I shot groups for one full turn past the sweet spot before backing it down and regrouping). Rifle is shooting .64 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards. I’m impressed with how well a simple little device worked.

Installed the accurizer myself with little difficulty. Just follow the instructions and take it slow. At the range, again follow the instructions to see what your barrel/load combination is doing. It's amazing to see what 1/4 turn on the screw will do. My #1 in 6.5X55 now groups around 1/2 inch consistently with my load for 140 gr. Hornady SST's. Remember, switching to another load or bullet will change everything - this grouping I got is for this load only. Switching loads requires tuning the accurizer all over again for that load.

After having my barrel replaced on my Ruger #1 the groups were horrible, 3 inches at BEST. I installed your Hicks #1 Accurizer as per instructions. Wow! It closed horrible groups to 3/4 inch with factory ammo. Great product!! Chris from Texas.

This product works as advertised. After installation, my groups went from 2 1/2 inches down to just over an inch with the same load. Well worth the time needed to install.

Nice product but will NOT fit aftermarket composite stock. Installed on another wood stocked #1 with no issues.
