You get an extension tube that serves two purposes. First, it can be used to give a longer mounting surface in mounts where the rings are further apart. And 2nd, it can serve as a sun shade. The polarizing filter reduces glare and reflections... Improves target acquisition in bright sunlight. And the removable black rubber eye shade cuts down on reflection from the eyepiece... Just another thoughtful addition that improves image and target acquisition.
